Barb Lewis
Cello
Barbara Clippinger Lewis is a Suzuki cello teacher, voice instructor, and a choir director for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She holds a B.S. in Music Education from West Chester University and a M.M. in Vocal Pedagogy from The Catholic University of America. She is retired as Director of Orchestras at Allen M.S. and Cedar Cliff H.S. in the West Shore School District and also is a retired Senior Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force Band in Washington, DC, where she sang soprano with the USAF Singing Sergeants. Barbara studied cello with the late Mary Fister of Harrisburg, PA, Eugene Klein, West Chester University, and the late Stephen Kates, Peabody Conservatory. She also studied voice with the late Ms. Joy Vandever, West Chester, PA, Dr. Donald Wiggins, the Catholic University of America, and is currently studying with Ms. Claudia Catania, NYC, formerly from the Met. Besides actively teaching, Barbara loves to spend time with her 3 children, their spouses, and her 5 grandchildren.
